Reihenhausmannskost - An exhibition on lifestyle, furnishing and gastronomic culture in suburban Germany

How German are German “Reihenhäuser” (suburban terrace houses)? The South African photographer Stan Engelbrecht has investigated this and other questions in his photographic book “Reihenhausmannskost” and the eponymous exhibition. Seven dining tables as projection surfaces for films using timelapse photography will highlight the lifestyles of various different families living in suburban terrace houses. Tables set for a meal and the everyday objects exhibited serve as a symbol of family life.
