Von Aalto bis Zumthor - Furniture designed by architects from Aalto to Zumthor

Product design is a design branch in its own right, but renowned architects often design their ideal furniture themselves. What makes furniture designed by architects special? Examples from the last 100 years from the museum’s own rich collection will be on display to look into this question. The exhibits will include designs by Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer, Egon Eiermann, Norman Foster, Daniel Libeskind, Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Hadi Teherani and many others. The exhibition and the accompanying catalogue will provide visitors with an attractive range of sculptural, futuristic and functional design.
