KAYSERZINN – Engelbert Kayser. Art Nouveau pewterware from the Cologne Kayser manufactory

On the 100th anniversary of the death of Engelbert Kayser (1840-1911), the Museum of Applied Art will honour the life and work of this entrepreneur and artist from Cologne. Not only did the founder of the Kayser manufactory recognise the potential of Art Nouveau pewterware to become a global success, he was also a sensitive artist and a skilful businessman. This exhibition will make this remarkable man come alive using contemporary documents, furnishings and memorabilia, and will also focus on his work. Numerous iconic objects made from Kayserzinn, an aesthetically sophisticated material with a silvery lustre, will fascinate and enthral visitors.
