Special prizes for documentary photography donated by the Wüstenrot Foundation

Documentary photography plays an important role above all in the media and is the subject of critical discussion. Documentary photography implies the interpretation of reality and the creation of our visual memory, i.e. it fulfils important social and cultural tasks. The Wüstenrot Foundation has been supporting young photographers every two years since 1994 by awarding special prizes. All the projects which have been realized so far are to be presented in Cologne. The exhibition will be accompanied by the symposium “Perspektive Dokumentarfotografie” which will take place on 28/29 September (catalogue, poster).
