Professor Winkler bequeathed the important painting “Composition in black and red” by Piet Mondrian from the year 1927 to the museum. This precious gift is to be presented together with design objects in which Mondrian’s formal vocabulary and use of colours are quoted as a marketing ploy. Thus, the exhibition not only makes it possible to experience the radiance of the original works but also reveals the interplay and interrelationship between art, design and economic factors.
