Networks – the art of lace-making

This exhibition is an international project in collaboration with the “Forum Alte Spitze” in Germany, and “Kant in Vlaanderen” vzw (Belgium) and “Landelijke Organisatie Kant Kunst” (Netherlands). The traditional craft of lace-making has been preserved to the present day. What has changed are the artistic forms of expression of this craft and its aesthetic standards. Modern lace has become three-dimensional, occasionally even defining space. It has taken on sculptural qualities. A total of 35 artists from Germany, Belgium and Holland will present complex objects and stunning works of art, all of which are inspired by the traditional art of lace-making and, above all, by the colour range of the material used: the many shades of white.
